Walk-ins are welcome to grab a cup of coffee during business hours, but you won’t be able to meet the café cats without an appointment.

CATS & COFFEE

Welcome to the Tree House Humane Society Cat Café—a cozy spot to meet adoptable cats, enjoy great coffee, and connect with friends.

Our special café cats have feline leukemia, which means their immune systems are more vulnerable than most cats. To keep them healthy and safe, we limit the number of kitties in the café. Typically, there are usually between one and four cats in the lounge you can hang out with when you make an appointment.

Did you fall in love with one of our café cats? They are available for adoption! Just ask a team member for more details.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET THE CATS IN THE CAFE?

Yes, an appointment is required to meet the cats in the café. Visitors may enjoy a drink in the café without an appointment, but they will not be able to meet the cats in the café without a reservation.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO VISIT THE CAT CAFE?

One reservation can accommodate a group of up to four (4) people. Only one group per appointment slot will be permitted.

WHAT ARE THE CAT CAFE GUIDELINES?

Please respect the cats. Be aware of their personal space and mood. Refrain from chasing, picking up, or giving belly rubs to the cats, and use a quiet voice and slow movements in the café.

ARE TIME SLOTS LIMITED TO 30 MINUTES?

No, guests may book back-to-back appointments for one hour in the café. The booking fee will be doubled to reflect the full hour.

WHAT IS FeLV?

FeLV, otherwise known as Feline Leukemia Virus, is a retrovirus socially shared among cats that weakens a cat’s immune system and ability to fight infections. It can oftentimes progress into lymphoma, a type of cancer, or cause anemia, which results in low red blood cell levels. While FeLV-positive cats have a shortened life expectancy, they can still live several healthy, fulfilling years following a diagnosis. Because of their weakened immune system, they should remain indoors only, stay up to date on preventative care, and receive regular veterinary checkups (every 6 months or as recommended by your vet). FeLV is infectious to other cats, so we recommend consulting with your veterinarian before housing positive cats with negative cats.

HOW CAN I HELP SUPPORT CATS WITH FeLV?

Due to the limited number of feline leukemia-positive cats we can care for at once, the best way to help is by finding loving homes for our current resident café cats. When our current FeLV+ residents are adopted, it opens space for others on our waitlist to join the café and find their Happy Endings!

You can make a difference by spreading awareness about feline leukemia to your friends and community, and by leaving a review on Google to help expand our reach.

Additionally, you can directly support our FeLV+ program through adoption, volunteering, donating, or by visiting our Cat Café, store, and Veterinary Wellness Center. Every bit of support brings us closer to a happy ending for all our cats!
