Do you remember Jellianne Toe Beans? 💕 She’s been Do you remember Jellianne Toe Beans? 💕 She’s been on quite the journey with us, and we’re hopeful that her recent medical procedures will help her feel happier and more comfortable for years to come. Jellianne came to Tree House a year and a half ago after the only human she’d ever known passed away. Terrified of new people, she went to a foster home where her foster dad spent months patiently showing her that humans can be safe—and that she can form new, loving relationships. Just look at the progress she’s made! 🥹 Since then, Jellianne has had dental extractions, an episioplasty to make grooming her underside more comfortable, and a cystotomy to remove a stump pyometra, an infection of uterine tissue remaining after a prior spay. These procedures have greatly reduced her physical discomfort, making it easier for her to focus on what really matters: connecting with people. 💗 As much as we love this brave girl, we’d love to finally say, “See ya later!” and watch her start her next chapter with an adopter. The tiniest kittens may steal the spotlight, but b The tiniest kittens may steal the spotlight, but big kitten energy deserves some love, too! 🐾 Our youngest adoptable kittens are typically around 2 months old, and yep—they’ve got everyone wrapped around their tiny paws. 💕 But our 3- and 4-month-old kittens are only a wee bit bigger, and they have just as much growing, playing, and loving to do. Tree House foster pawrent Melanie spills the tea! ☕🐱⁠ ⁠ Before fostering Radio Flyer, Melanie had never cared for an anxious cat—and joked that she “needed more training than Radio Flyer did!” Luckily, our team was there to answer her questions and help her feel prepared.⁠ ⁠ Radio Flyer could easily become stressed by sudden sights or sounds and preferred socializing on her terms. Melanie initially thought she wasn’t interested in her at all… until one day, Miss Flyer jumped into her lap, touched noses with her, and even took a little nap! 🥹⁠ ⁠ That sweet breakthrough was a reminder that, for cats like Radio Flyer, patience can go a long way.⁠ ⁠ Radio Flyer is now off to a Trial Adoption to see if she’s a match for her new home. Meanwhile, Melanie is keeping busy fostering Abner (pictured in the last slide), who’s getting some much-needed medical care for kidney and dental disease. 💙⁠ ⁠ Interested in fostering a “spicy” cat? A very fluffy one. 😹⁠ ⁠ This 5-year-old goofball loves to ambush people for playtime—especially when a flowy hem catches his eye! Koi is living with Feline Leukemia virus (FeLV)* and previously spent time in our Cat Café, but he does best with a little time to get to know new people. Once he settled into his foster home, he quickly warmed up to his foster family and got right to playing!⁠ ⁠ His foster says Koi is “the silliest guy,” obsessed with pushing paper bags around the room, hiding inside them, and leaping over toys as they slide across the floor. He’s also known to sprawl flat on his back in the middle of the room and fall asleep staring at the ceiling. 😂⁠ ⁠ Think Koi could be your kind of goof? Could you guess that this super-sweet kitty once l Could you guess that this super-sweet kitty once lived his life outdoors? 🐾 Charles Ross tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), a virus that is primarily transmitted between cats through bite wounds. Unneutered male cats with outdoor access are at higher risk of contracting FIV, so we can make a pretty good guess that Charles once spent time on the streets before making his way into the shelter system. FIV is a lifelong infection that can weaken a cat’s immune system and make them more susceptible to certain infections and illnesses. But an FIV+ diagnosis doesn’t mean a cat can’t live a long, happy life! ❤️ With proper nutrition, an indoor lifestyle, and regular veterinary care, cats like Charles can thrive. After a couple years of enjoying their adoption into a loving home, their family had to move and was pressured to only take one cat with them. Their family made the compassionate decision to give these two another chance at adoption into another home—together. 💓⁠ ⁠ Between the two of them, Maple’s the shyer kitty but will warm up as he sees you playing with his brother: he’s curious and doesn’t want to be left out! They previously lived with a third cat in their last home, with whom they built an amicable relationship.⁠ ⁠ 🏡 Maple and 2 Unlimited are hanging out in their foster home until they meet an adopter who's ready to write their next chapter. Last week, the runway belonged to the cats—and the Last week, the runway belonged to the cats—and the people who love them! 🐱✨⁠ ⁠ This year’s Cat Walk: Feline Fashion Show, presented by My Neighborhood Vet and Tom & Mary Prescott, brought big looks, big heart, and plenty of unforgettable moments. 💃🐾⁠ ⁠ From State Representative Kelly Cassidy strutting the runway with a stroller full of kittens, to a show-stopping look inspired by our Better Together duo, Honduras and Belize (who may have found their adopter this week! 🥹), the fashion was feline fabulous.⁠ ⁠ And then there was the @purinaone_us cat food bag couture—proof that a brighter future can start with what’s inside. 🛍️🐱⁠ ⁠ But the biggest show-stopper of all? YOU. Together, our incredible community raised $55,000 to create a brighter future for cats. 💙⁠ ⁠ Thank you for making this year’s Cat Walk a purr-fectly unforgettable one! 🐾

At Cat Walk 2026, student designers Ellie Allaire and Carolina Toro served up a show-stopping two-piece ensemble made entirely from Purina ONE cat food bags. Their design took home the inaugural Champion for Cats award, as voted by Tree House friends! 🏆 But this look was about more than fashion. It highlighted something every cat needs to thrive: access to nutritious food. Since 2024, Purina has donated more than $100,000 in shelter food to Tree House, helping provide the nutrition our cats need to heal, grow stronger, and thrive. Cats can’t speak any human languages (that we know Cats can’t speak any human languages (that we know of… yet), but they’re constantly communicating with us in a language we can understand. In animal shelters, we call it FAS & F: Fear, Anxiety, Stress & Frustration. (Swipe to see an FAS chart created by Fear Free Happy Homes!)⁠ ⁠ A hiss, a growl, a flattened body, or retreating from an approaching person are all messages that tell us a cat is uncomfortable with a particular interaction—whether the threat is real or perceived.⁠ ⁠ So how do we translate the message? We look for triggers: the events, environmental factors, or interactions that happen before a cat responds with fear or stress. Once we understand what’s causing that response, we can adjust the cat’s environment, routine, or our own approach to help them feel safer. Over time, those changes can turn a fearful interaction into a more neutral—and eventually positive—conversation. 🐾⁠ ⁠ And sometimes, the best place for that conversation to happen isn’t a shelter at all. Our fearful cats need patient foster homes where they can decompress, build confidence, and learn that people can be safe. Can you speak their language? Do you have some extra time and a quiet space? She’s here to remind us that you’re never too old to turn heads!⁠ ⁠ 🧡 Sandy: This handsome ginger is 10 years old, which makes him 56 in human years. Now that we think about it, perhaps he’s not that old!⁠ ⁠ These older and wiser kitties still have plenty of love, personality, and purrs to give.
