Since 1971, Tree House has been innovating and practicing cutting-edge shelter programs. We were Chicago’s first cage-free cat shelter, allowing our cats to roam freely about their colonies, spending time in cages only for medical reasons to acclimation to a new room. You can learn more about our community housing practices here.

Tree House is proud to now be one of the first shelters in the United States to adopt out FeLV+ (feline leukemia-positive) cats. Come meet one at our shelter today!
