FAQs

What is Lights of Love?

Lights of Love is a holiday-themed event open to all members of the community. Hosted at Tree House Humane Society, the event is an opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones, both human and animal, of past, present, and future. Volunteers decorate the shelter and clinic with string lights to represent the thousands of loved ones who make an impact on our lives. Your donation supports Tree House Humane Society programs, including an adoption center, an affordable veterinary clinic, outdoor cat programs, an FeLV+ cat café, and more.

What can my family expect at Lights of Love?

Lights of Love 2023 will feature a variety of activities and entertainment for visitors of all ages. Enjoy a children’s book reading of Ethan and the Strays by author John Sullivan, stuffed animal check-ups in the clinic, festive photo opportunities, and holiday craft stations including ornament and card decorating. Dazzling live entertainment will feature performances from Uniting Voices Chicago, a local children’s choir, and excerpts from Otherworld Theatre’s original show Space Cat Holidays. Take a tour of our shelter, shop our outdoor holiday bazaar with local vendors from across the city, and enjoy complimentary appetizers and beverages, including a kids’ hot chocolate bar.
